About the hall
It took 10 years of fund raising and hard work for award winning fundraisers Doreen Johnstone and Vera Quinton and their team to accrue enough money to build a hall anybody would be proud of.
The village hall was officially opened in December 2010 by the Duke and Duchess of Richmond and Gordon, who are great supporters of local charities.
Funding from the Big Lottery Fund and grants obtained from West Sussex County Council and Chichester District Council helped towards the build costs.
Local and large businesses in the area also helped generously towards the fundraising effort.
However the ongoing generosity of the villagers and families of Boxgrove, Halnaker, Strettington and Crockerhill, along with the surrounding area, has been an amazing triumph for them and something that all involved should be very proud of.
Boxgrove Village Hall is not just a hall; it demonstrates what can be achieved when Government, Commerce and Community come together led by a very determined team of residents.
